There are four races in Ether Saga Online. In terms of game play and the four races all behave the same and can all play as any of the six Classes. They live harmoniously and without serious conflicts. This is because they all have different aims. Each race will have its own quests (in addition to shared ones) which will all be aimed at completing that race’s particular objective. In addition to these race independent quests/goals is the shared ultimate goal of being selected to join the Mission West. The heaven of Middle Kingdom is an intricate bureaucracy filled with coups, favors, bribes, all sorts of scheming and a meticulously tiered ranking system of officials. Gods can be demoted, promoted, exiled, imprisoned, etc. According to the mythology, there is a hierarchy of beings in and below Heaven.
What follows is a brief description of the four races:
Renzu[]
Ren male(left). Ren female(right).
This is the archetypal human race. The Renzu, also known at Ren, run most of the major cities. They have advanced technology, societies and political system. Their influence extends far and wide. It is the human task to collect fragments of the Divine Chalice which were scattered around the world when a clumsy officer dropped it.
The Ren starter pet is the "Baby Dewdrop Bunny".
Shenzu[]

Those who choose to align themselves with the goal of the Shenzu, also known as 'Shen', race will find themselves at Eloquence Peak, where the land nearly touches the sky. Here players will find themselves by the beauty and cuteness of the nearby surroundings and creatures. All players who begin here will find that their first pet are Baby Maofu Longtails. These blessed creatures from the Ancestrial Ruins will prove most useful in supporting them in the early levels. Much liked the Winged Elves of Perfect World, the Shenzu race descends from the inter mingling of mortals and gods from long ago. Because of this find themselves with high expectations as ambassadors to the mortal world and are blessed with beauty and noble hair styles.
The Shen starter pet is the "Baby Maotu Longtail".
Yaohzu[]
Yaoh male(left). Yaoh female(right).
They were once animals but through advanced spiritual cultivation they were acknowledged by Heaven and granted acceptance as powerful and worthy of respect. Yaohzu, also known as Yoah, communities are found in various parts of the land. Their goal is to find a Sacred Ark that was discovered missing during the Peach Yard Banquet. Without this vessel the sacred knowledge cannot be brought to the Middle Kingdom.
The Yaoh stater pet is the "Baby Katsu fox".
Mogui[]
They are demonic dragon-people.
The Mogui stater pet is the "Redmalkin Cub".
